Is this ram worth it?

I was thinking about getting this ram

OCZ EL Gold GX XTC PC4000 2GB 2X1GB DDR500 CL3-4-3-8 184PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit

but for 60$ more I can get this:

OCZ EL Platinum XTC PC4000 2GB 2X1GB DDR500 CL3-3-3-8 184PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit

is it worth the extra 60$ CDN? why is it 60$CDN for a slight lower timing?

OR this Ram for 65$ more CDN

My opinion, I would get the best if I have money and nothing to do or I wanna squeezes the last drop of juice in my PC then I'd get the best no matter how much money efficient as of price per timings....But for a normal and mid-gaming users....I'd get the top one the cheapest one, it aint that bad and by far the other doesn't give you much for the price, that's what I think.....don't mind me if u think different.

I think you should buy the first one, that 1 point in the timings will go virtualy unnoticed in any application. I bet that you won't get 1% performance advantage maybe except some benchmarks, but in the real world next to nothing. And besides, for 60 CAN you can upgrade something or buy a couple of beers to enjoy the new dual channel kit (if it's the GOLD)

I'd say get the cheapest one. The only timing that really matters is your CAS latency. And since they all have a latency of 3, you won't notice enough of a difference for it to be worth $60. Although, if you really want to throw away $60, you could get the more expensive one...or you could give it to me.

Don't go with value RAM. It usually can't be overclocked at all. I know you're looking at the OCZ stuff, but I would consider a set of G.Skill HZs. They're $192 (they used to be $157, but the sale ended) and they can be overclocked like crazy. They run stock at 250MHz (DDR500) but they can easily be pushed to 280MHz (DDR560). This will allow you to get some big overclocks.

Value RAM simply means that it's a little bit cheaper, but it's also not as high quality. Value RAM typically can't be overclocked much. And yes, CAS latency is the first number, and it's also the most important in terms of speed. Almost all DDR500 kits have a CAS of 3, but it doesn't really matter because the extra 50MHz of speed they have lets them outperform DDR400 with really fast timings.
