WoW and Knight Online - Page 3

Well, when any game is at its infancy, of course there's going to be many bugs, exploits, and hacks just waiting to be found and made by members; That's pretty much a given. Diablo II is actually much more protected now than you might think. The big patch, v1.10, fixed hundreds of major and minor bugs, including many exploits and altered many gameplay attributes. Now at v1.11b, Blizzard has gotten extremely smart and can now detect maphacks and dozens of other kinds of hacks or bots.

Blizzard make awesome game but they cant keep them away from the hordes of cheaters very long whatever they do, Starcraft, Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo, all of them is flooded by them. And its not because they are more players who play those games then others, its apparently hard to find cheat for Lineage II, just write "bots + wow" in google and you'll get plenty of 'em that work without a itch and you'll even see in the forums of those site threads like "anyone got banned yet after 1 yrs of cheating?" and the such

I'd like someone to show me a game that has 0 hackers. Please be realistic. Just because *SOME* people hack in games doesn't mean it ruins the game. I play WoW, and I have yet to notice anything fishy other than gold farmers. And they are in ANY MMORPG. So to discount a game because of hackers and botters means you really weren't looking at the game in the first place.

Ok the fact is that every game can be hackable/exploitable. It is impossible to have a completely secure game. I personally have not seen this so much in WoW as games like counterstrike or halo2. Any game can be modded/hacked and blizzard has a very strict policy against this and they try to combat it to the best of their ablities. WoW is a very fun game and I recommend it.

Gonna chime in here as I HAVE hacked in games, although NOT in WoW.

WoW is on of the BEST MMOs I have had the pleasure to play. I have played EQ, EQII, WoW, DAoC, CoH, CoV, and buying DDO shortly.

Hacking is present in EACH of these games as there is a VERY small player base that wants an advantage however they can get it. There IS speed hacks in WoW. There IS geometry exploits in WoW. I can tell you though that IF you are caught with a thrid party program EVEN not hacking, you can be suspended or banned.

As far as the quality of the games, I personally think WoW is one of the BEST MMO ever made second only to popping my cherry on EQ.
