Thread Starter
hey there...

i just got into this forum, it looks very intresting, i had aquite nice stable overclocked intel system, a 3,2 prescott on a asus p4c800 deluxe board with 4gb ram, it ran stable on 4,6 ghz...(watercooled) but after running prime95 my case got filled with smoke.... mobo+ram in trashcan......

i am building a new system now, since prime95 fried my last one.... i know one thing for sure, when this baby is done, i wont run it anymore....

i try to keep you guys up with my new system in progress, still can take a while (collecting parts now)

Im confused How would a prime test do it? Its simply a stress test to check for stability. If the PC fried when you ran it then your hardware/settings were misconfigured, or you had a complete wire nightmare. Also if you got some shots of the 3.2 @ 4.6ghz Id like to see them as well. BTW welcome to the forum

EDIT BTW how do you like your 975X WS? Hows the Vcore run under load on that? Ive been thinking of going with that board because of the 8-Phase Power Design.

Yeah, Prime is a program, it can't cause your motherboard to fry. Too much voltage or a short would do it though.

Always cool to hear about new builds

LOL

Something tells me that this new member is looking for a forum of the uninformed for his posting.
