Runs solid with the voltage @ 1.40v but ive just had to up it to 1.45v

Nobody can tell you for sure, every CPU is different. But Id say unless you start to run into heat issues you shouldnt be worried about damage, just watch your temps and give it a go. BTW when you raise the FSB some point in time you will need to raise the Vcore to get the system stable, if you dont have voltage tweaks then you will be pretty limited.

Just keep it below 55c. under load, the only way you can hurt the cpu is with to much vcore, get som better cooling then you should be able to get up to about 3.7 to 3.8ghz with no problem.

I have one in my folding farm running at 3.75ghz folding 24/7 max temps are 48c.

Even though each CPU is different, more important is that many motherboards do not actively support range overclocking and tie their subsystem BIOS's settings to either hidden or static so that one can not raise, activate or deactivate settings.

Thus anyone who is wishing to overclock would do well to research their board even more than their CPU as even with a poor overclocking CPU one is still allowed some overclocking but with a tied BIOS board one is allowed no overclock settings.

Ropey: i think that my motherboard supports it or something like that about my motherboard: ASRock P4i48 have Hybrid Booster Technology: Hybrid Booster - A considerate overclocking technology concerns both performace and safety. in ordet to provive advanced performace, hybrid booster provives adjustment interfaces of the cpu multiplier, cpu vcore voltage, cpu frequency stepless control, agp/pci frequenci control. with these adjustment interfaces, the power user could tune the setting to get the best performace of the system. however, performing overclocking is at risk of hardware damage and to boot failure. with two safety features - " ASRock U-Cop " and " Boot Failure Guard " , Hybrid Booster will minimaze the risk of overclocking, such as cpu overheating or the system boot failure.
