help oc'ing my new prescott...

Hey yall...Ive posted a while ago that i messed up my proc, that i oc to 3.5...well now i recieved my new one...I am hoping to go further with it...it is a 3.2 prescott for my old rig... the thing is I set back everything on the motherboard to default, and when i ran the BIOS the cpu voltage said 1.3625V ...well is that normal coz for a prescott the max is 1.525V...and i habe the Hyper 48 and arctic silver on it, so i kind off want to run this baby out ...thnx

That is normal vcore beacuse you are not overclocking it. Raise it as need with your overclock. I have mine set to 1.475 and im at 3.8 all day everyday.

well now im starting to have some problems...i overclocked it to 3.34 but it restarts once i got into windows...i took the voltage 1.375,stil it did the same thing...i even took it up to 1.3875...but prime 95 at this point is failing at 20 min...plz help....

by the way you guys i forgot to mention this in the beginning...which was mainly my main question!! the 3.2 prescott came at a stock speed of 3.06...and at 1.3625 V....well that was the question if its normal or not??

Put th voltage to at least 1.4. It wont damage it. go as high as 1.5 if you need to but with a clock like that 1.45 should be good or 1.475 is good.

well ive been BMFE II now for about an hour at high sttings...the thing is it was running really stable, but when i run prime 95 and i decreased it back to 3.3 now, it gives me an error at 10-15 min depends...what should i do i serioulsy dont know...thnx for ur help by the way grkgus...well im still too low on a speed to go that high on voltage...or it wouldnt matter...im goin on 1-2 mhz increments at a time...or is it ok if i simply take the voltage that high n then just oc the proc till it rstarts....thnx again...

You can raise it to 1.45 safely. I would increase from there accordingly. Have you download speedfan. What are the temps on the cpu and what is the speed on your memory.

my ram timming are 2.5 3 3 8 and my cpu temps are under load 48C and idle 40....

Thats good timings i believe that is stock timings. I am not sure what else. I will have to think and get back to you later.
