Goodbye to my low latency redlines...

Thread Starter
When I got home today from school, my computer wouldn't boot at all. First thing I tried was swapping ram with my roomate. Mine booted, his didn't. It was kinda nice to isolate the problem so fast, but not so nice to lose these chips. I really liked the low latencies I got (2-2-2-5 @ 250 Mhz) with the BH5/UTT, but they required too much voltage. Anyway, I'm RMAing through Mushkin and since this specific set of redlines has been discontinued, what kind of ram do you think I'll get back from Mushkin?

I would recommend any of these, depending on how much you want to spend. Personally I have the red and it's running great 2.5-3-3-6 @ 220Mhz @2.5V. But don't quote me on that refund thing... it was just a total guess.

anything that can do 300 Mhz? That way I could run 1:1, that would be cool.

you could get a refund, buy some g skill HZ's and those will do 280-300 2gb kit 3-4-4-8 timings =) im thinking they died cause you had too much voltage going through them...those redlines REQUIRE active cooling on them which is why i never got them.

It's true, I was giving them 3.5v, and needed the active cooling, which was always annoying to rig a fan.

to rig a fan...only thing you ever need is DUCT TAPE or electrical tape

those BH5s were amazing when they came out. some people are still actually searching for some through EBay.

if i was in the market for memory, i'd buy the Mushkins or Kingston in this article.
