Socket 478 is obsolete and LGA is what every CPU Intel is currently releasing.

As far as difference? I had socket 478 but was not completely happy with the performance and overclocking abilities from the system.

Overall, LGA is far better IMO.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that yes, I did ditch my socket 478 because of DDR as well but ended up with the ABIT AG8-3rd Eye which uses DDR and I can say that I'm not that crazy about the system, I think I'll be replacing the motherboard and some DDR2.

Maybe that way I will be able to overclock a little better with it and use a 3:5 ration instead of the 1:1 which it's currently running. So LGA is good but not with DDR, must be DDR2.

YAY!
+1 rep for you!

But plz! I'd like to know stuff like wich runs at higher temps and higher voltage... the more opinions I have the best it is!

+1 rep to every constructive coment!

775 supports 64 bit processing and dual channel memory, its basically AMD's 939, and intels 478 is amd's 754.
cant complain..

LGA775 is way better cause it allows a faster FSB and more power to the CPU. Plus theres no pins to bend.
Very nice!

K, interesting. But is there one that runs at higher voltage and/or temperature?

Not really. The Athlon XPs were more like the 478 P4s. 754 was 64 bit the whole time(other than a few Semprons).
Not bad at all...

Let's see, you have a 540 or 640.

I have a 540 in my AG8 and OCZ DDR400 (2-2-2-5).

I've run my AG8 @ 250fsb and DDR500 @ 2.5-3-3-5 2.8v MAX'd, because I think the chipset is overclocking limited and also the MoBo's capacitors won't allow it.

So currently is doing 225fsb @ 2-3-3-5 @ 2.6v on a 1:1 ratio. From 3.2ghz to 3.60ghz.
