I'm picking up an SSD for one of my back up systems:

Ended up going with the OCZ (OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G) Vertex 2 Extended SATA II 2.5" 120GB Solid State Drive, Read: 285MB/s, Write: 275MB/s

$230 for a 120 GB drive is hard to beat

Get the corsair one.
You always hear of OCZ facking up with ram and such. I wouldn't trust them with any other kind of memory lol.

No problem with mushkin tho.
...eh. Which one is the cheapest?

SSDs are very different from RAM. It's like saying you wouldn't trust an OCZ CPU or Videocard because of their RAM. (not that they actually make those...)

Corsair is a good choice for SSDs - but OCZ has the best track record for firmware updates and A+ support.

Assuming their SSDs will have superior performance because of their PSUs doesn't make much sense to me.

Especially when OCZ has the best track record of pushing out new firmwares that boost performance, and so far Corsair hasn't pushed out many updates to any of their SSDs...

Your reasons for going Corsair apply to OCZ in this case.

So far, I would vote for vertex 2 since I have seen a lot of people, including myself, using the product and so far very happy with it. Not that corsair/mushkin has problems but also because that ocz has a very active forum. Easier to find help/support/updates

OCZ has a cozy relationship with Sandforce who makes the Sandforce controller in all three of those drives (which gives them all identical performance)

This means OCZ often is first to release new firmware for such drives.

Otherwise the three drives should be identical, so it is a case of customer support, warranty, brand loyalty, and price.

I would tend toward the OCZ or Mushkin since they have forums where you can post, with OCZ being the most active forums by number of "admin" or "company" staff...

Having said that, Corsair's other products are pretty impressive, and their company image in general is good... But the firmware is such a big part of the package with SSDs that I would be inclined to stick with OCZ...

Assuming I go with OCZ, there are 4 models listed that are all roughly the same price, size and speed.

Is there a benefit to any particular model of these 4?
