FSB:RAM ratio - Page 2

I am currently running my FSB : DRAM is 4:5, this is default on my system and I hoesntly don't know alot about the FSB to RAM ratio, but is this an effective ratio? Would 1:1 be a slightly better?

RAM Specs from CPU-Z:
GeLI 2GB DDR2-668/PC-5300
Frequency: 334.3 MHz
FSB : DRAM : 4:5
CAS# Latency: 4.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 4 clocks
RAS# Prechange: 4 clocks
Cycle Time (Trans): 12 clocks

Another question I have, what is the end result if I try to lower some of the RAM Latency values? Is it more heat? More voltage needed? Is it worth it?

Can you tighten up the timings at 1:1?

If you can make 4 - 3 - 3 - 10 at 1:1 and set your voltage at 2.0 - 2.1V you might be surprised at the performance.

Well I am not sure where in my BIOS where I set the setting to 1:1 ratio. I just don't see anything mentioning about the FSB-RAM ratio. So anyone who knows how to change the this ratio with a modern ASUS motherboard would be a big help.

In the Asus BIOS, extra settings are hidden, until you take some of the BIOS settings off the "Auto" setting.

Look to the "Advanced Page" and you will see a setting called "JumperFree Configuration". When you enter this area you will see another setting called, "Dram Frequency".

You will be given the settings:

Auto
DDR2 - 400MHz
DDR2 - 533MHz
DDR2 - 600MHz
DDR2 - 667MHz
DDR2 - 800MHz

If you select "Dram Frequency" you will be able to modify the DRAM settings which are on that motherboard (I believe) supported upto DDR800. Keep in mind that if you overclock you will raise concurrently the DRAM speed in direct proportion to the FSB.
