Do not connect directly to mobo header??

I have ordered 2 Fans for my soon to come radiator, and theres a warning on that particular page wich says in bold writing "Warning: Do not connect high power fans directly to your motherboard header or fan controller as damage may result."

Fan specs:
2750 RPM fan speed
114 CFM air flow
46 dBA noise level
Power Consumption: 7.8W

Is that one of those warnings your ment to ignore? or am I ment to use a fan controller? Im confused, btw its a 3pin.

You're going to have to use a Molex power adapter if the fans don't come with one.

But judging on those specs, I woulnd't be affraid of using the MoBos 3pin connectors.

The stated power consumtion of those fans should be okay to run off your motherboard. Just rememember as you lower the voltage to them the current will increase and it is at startup where they draw the most that is the cause for concern.

See what your motherboard fan headers are capable of in terms of current drawn through them.

If you have any doubts run them off the PSU MOLEX at 12V or through a Rheobus.

Thanks guys, Ive ordered 2 adaptors. I made a mistake cause I had the choice to order 4 Pin fan but I didnt see and I was hoping it was a 4pin mobo header like the one the CPU fan connects to.

I don't see where the problem would be running it from a molex.

I wouldn't run from mobo headers anyway...they don;t always fun at full speed through the mobo header, sometimes it throttles them.
