OK. fine. I think I understand it now. No, I really don't. But I'll just fold on anyways

I would say we need to shape up, but it looks like the team is running like a top. If we hold these numbers for next month we should be in a great place.
I just need to do what I think is best for the team and if that means that I should step down then it is what I shall do

Sorry about all the confusion

Let's just leave it at Snoopy is replacing me until Dan needs to go visit his family

Oh how I wish I was folding on my machine...mr. meanE lemans is testing his rig out under my name. Better me than somewhere else. The good news is that I will be 100% folding on Saturday by the latest. Just have to decide what I want to fold on, we downsized computers to just two, so I will have to fold on his gaming machine again.(lol gaming, he games less than 6 hours a week on it) I could do the vmware thing but I have had so many problems(I know its best), or I could go with standard smp(I know lower points but less chance of errors and me not catching), or I could run his overclocked 8800GS which gets about 4900ppd and with the new cap would get a steady 2500ppd. You guys tell me what you think is best?

Hmm, you know when ever I need the numbers crunched, I just ask your hubby. Him and Jade know the numbers like no bodies business.

OK. I did some number crunching. Even at 2500ppd, you not going to get the numbers you would getting with the SMP. With these new Gromacs CVS cores, it seems like people get 3820 almost every day. At 3.8Ghz, or even 4.2Ghz it's always 3820 or so. It takes a couple days for a person running very fast to even pull a WU ahead of somebody running at like 3.7Ghz.
I would definitely fold SMP and VMware (Ubuntu or Error10's) then run at a reliable and steady clock speed. If 4.1Ghz is causing errors, then just run at 4.0Ghz or 4.05Ghz. Seems like the person that runs straight through without "kernel panic" is always in the top 3 anyways. Just my 2 cents worth. AND..... Great to see you back "Captain"

Well am back up and running...The installation of Vista went smooth..Been just stress testing it this time around..I get it up to 4.2 at 3.6v.....Better then before...Am guessing the new rams are helping a lot.

Am trying error10's way to see how it goes. Am getting 3800+ ppd that is low for me when I was getting 4100= in xp. Guess on my next day off I'll redo XP..Was getting better ppd.

Ok an update...I got my system up and just started to fold now..Am liking the results so far...
After being up all night Sunday installing Vista and updating and all day Monday oc'ing it and running a lot of stress tests. It's doing a lot better then when I was folding in XP.....The new rams that came back from RMA are doing great *crossing fingers and knocking on wood* So hopefully I be able to stay with Vista on this rig...

I am running error10's setup and so far I could say I like it.
