Hey we're doing really well today!
Quick question? How come GPU folders are only allowed a max of 2.5K a day?

Good job guys!

It was originally only cpu's back when that's all that folded. Then, so the gpu guys wouldn't feel left out, they let them play but with a cap to make things "fair." The cap used to be 2000, then got raised to 2250 for a month, then 2500. At least this is how I think the story goes.

Hey Blankthis..The reason for the cap was because they realized after a while that the gpu is very powerful tool for folding..as you can see that a good card you can get 5k+..compare to a older cpu that could only do one unit at a time for that day.

So to keep it competitive they put a cap on so that for the smaller folder would have a chance in keeping up..But now that cpu are getting better for ex: I had a e6850 when I started to fold. While overclocked I was able to finish a unit in 16hr or so..But now with a e8600 oc'ed I can finish at below 12hrs.

So to make it fair they raised the cap from 2000ppd to 2500ppd..That is why some teams would ask for a folder that has a good chip and can finish two units in 24hrs.

They are some of us that would like to be in a team for the fun and to be competitive at the same time. The was put in so the the guy that doesn't have a very powerful rig can still join in for the fun in being in a team...

How much more do you have jade, I mean I noticed you did 3x1920 point jobs inside of 12 hours yesterday...sure hope you don't have more or we will have to make you your own team.

Also guys, I wanted to let you know I made a mistake and didn't add in one of blankme's days. So I have correct that in the official updates.

You know what Lemans. Yer right. That was a lot of wu's in 24 hours. But if you look you'll see it missed the ending of the previous day. Obviously the client wasn't able to send the previous day so that wu must have gone to the collection server. Then of course they counted it the next day. I haven't even touched that rig in about 2 1/2 months other than to switch nicks from the GPU comp. This is the steadiest rig I've ever used. I'm telling you that Kubuntu is SOLID

I just checked Stanford. It says - Active processors (within 7 days) 1 - so there you go

Anyways. Thanks for keeping the scores Lemans. I know people seldom say it. But I really appreciate you doing that. Good catch on the blankme error too.

We'll see you guys at the finish line!
