Team Just Be Cause (No Members Needed) - Page 67

Duke, please change the OP to E6750 for my chip.

I lost about 6 hours due to chip change and stability testing. She's only stable to 3.3 within spec'd temps.

4MB L2 FTW!

I also added a 2nd machine to the 37726 team. I specified 'Just_Be_Cause' as the user.

It's my backup rig:
Athlon +2200
Asus Socket A Board
2x512mb Corsair Value
80GB WD HDD
FX5700LE

Should be a decent little folder.

You do know the thermal spec of the E6750 is 72C, and not 60C like the older Core 2 Duo chips?

And I am a little surprised yours runs that hot... https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/rvandev2/s...pg?uniq=8rory4

My goal of 70k is gonna be a tight finish... I think I'll be just one WU short or so
Sadly, you're right. We were doing some remodeling this weekend - I'm trading spaces with my daughters. I had hoped to only be down for a couple of days, tops, but with all the stripping of wallpaper, painting, swapping furniture and running of new cabling to my new office, I'm gonna be down for a couple more days, especially now that I'll be limited to working on it after work.

I really apologize, guys. I think that with my sporadic folding time lately, you would be best served finding a replacement for me on the team. I enjoy participating, but I've just not been able to keep up the processing that the team deserves.

Hang in there Quasi, do a good job on that remodeling, then work on getting back up and running, the family comes first

Yes, I'm a little surprised as well.

I think it is due to the fact that I updated my BIOS to fix the uCPU code error and the new BETA has an updated temperature algorithm so it seems my idle and load temps were increased a bit. Also, I don't want to go over 1.5 vCore as I'm only on air.

I'll try reseating later on, but I'm averaging 12 mins/frame now.

I am on air also... and you seen my vcore in CPU-Z (it's 1.55V in BIOS) and my temps (consistenly around the mid-50's). And that's on air also (Zalman CNPS 9700.... I don't care what anyone says; with good airflow in the case, it's a GREAT cooler).

You think over 1.5 vCore on air is safe? Obviously if temps are within reason, but I think anything over 1.5 is unhealthy. Not that I care if my CPU's longevity drops from 10 years to 5, but I haven't really seen much to indicate that its relatively safe.

Maybe I'll reseat and raise my vCore at tad more. I'm already boasting a gain of 1.5 mins/frame on some WUs. This is great!

Also, Duke can you change my CPU to E6750. You accidentally changed Quasi's.

Ouch, just sat down and apparently my Suse was locked up
The screen was locked, tried to shrink the Konsole and it black screened. Never seen that one before.
Anyway, its up again and picked up the folding right where it left off, go figure!
Must get working on the other system ASAP!!!
