Thread Starter
i just got my 7900 GT along with my new computer. but when i play some games on it (serious sam 2) it sort of keep jerking, with lines. skipping some images as if it is lagging. even when i play some online game which is less detail den serious sam 2, the same thing still happens..

ANY IDEA HOW TO SOLVE THIS?! or iszit the graphic card probleM?

Did you overclock the card yourself?

Update all your drivers, since it is a completely new computer it could be several things.

Was there a different video card in that machine before? If so you might want to use Driver Clearner from:

http://www.driverheaven.net

and clean out your previous drivers along with the ones installed right now and do a fresh install of the video card drivers.

Lol I was about to say that too... seeing its a new computer. Also Serious Sam 2 plays better on ATI graffixs...

After you get all new drivers and if that does not help, try lowering either the memory clock or core clock by 1 mhz increments and see if that does the trick.

Are all of your parts new? Does the 7900gt have the artifacting on all games? I would definitely start by cleaning/reinstalling your video drivers......I would even boot up in safe mode, uninstall, then reinstall.

I hope this works - I ordered a 7900gt on 3/15, received it on 3/16...it had a similar problem....I tried everything. I ended up having to return it. I just got the replacement 3 or 4 days ago and it works perfect. What brand did you get? Apparently EVGA had a run with some bad memory........ I hope this is not whats happening to you. RMA'ing sucks!!!

My evga 7900GT which was suppose to be clocked at 550Mhz was only at 450Mhz... I never complained though...

100mhz?? I would probably complain quite a bit about that. Were you able to overclock it to 550?

I hear that it is quite common. I have it running at 579Mhz core and 1802Mhz on the memory... And it is watercooled, with volt mods to come.
