Hi guys,

I'm looking for a laptop just for school work, yet, i'll be ripping dvds and photoshop too....

I'm looking at the Sony laptop, they look quite nice w/slim design, at least in my opinion...Now sony comes with FS and FJ and BX models, don't know if there are more, but, i just wondering if some could tell me what they are.... And which is best to pick

budget $1000-1500

CPU: Centrino, NOT P4
Screen Size: 14-15ins widescreen, crystal clear/xbrite
DVD DL is better
battery: 3-6hrs
HDD Cap: doesn't matter, already have external

Are sony laptops any good? I know for the fact that not many people likes HP or Compaq.

Please help me out and pick the Good one spect above, mainly i'm looking for ScreenSize, DVD DL and Battery THE LONGER THE BETTER

Thanks

Sony sucks.

Just one mans opinion of a proprietary cluster crap of a company.

Acer/Lenova>HP/CPQ>Dell>abacus>Sony

IBM and Toshiba too (I have had M3, M4, M4 tablet, etc.)

Every time I have had a Sony arrive anywhere near me, I know I am going to be sending techs to tend to it.. often. Mostly heat issues. And quite a few memory/memory slot burn outs too. And one monitor went out. And I have probably only worked around half a dozem of them - compared to hundreds of IBMs, Toshibas, etc.

Again, nothing more than personal conjucture. Check features. $perPerformance. And pick one you feel comfortable with, Sony or whatever
