PhysX Proc.

Thread Starter
Trying to get help with my old Alienware computer (wouldn't recommend them) and I came across this. Alienware is selling Physics cards with their new machines. I don't know if anyone found out if/when these would be available if so nevermind, if not here you are.

They're not going to be released to the general public for a month or two afaik. Expect them to be expensive though.

They ARE good to have BUT.

Many games arent coded for them, 99% of games dont use them . THE soonest gaming coming that supports it is UT 2007 i think.

I say hold off. Its like Dual cores. When they first came out they did nothing but now they are starting to kick in. Im sure ATI or NVIDIA will make one a lot better then the AGIA. I say wait another year, as I dont think these are neccesarry for a while.

REMEMBER* the game MUST be coded to support that Or it will do nothing.

hold off another year and until then pick up a X1900 or something.

They'll sell a lot of stuff for UT2007, DX10 cards, PhysX cards, CPUs, ect. It's the next HL2, but it's more expensive every time you need to do it.

They do, but it takes up a lot of precious CPU cycles. This is more like a sound card where it takes load off the GPU.
