They already have done: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30964

7950 GTX 2 is what they are called (Quad SLI cards).

This is simple. The X1900XTX has slightly better performance than the 7900GTX. However, the 7900GTX uses less power and uses Nvidia drivers, which have far less problems than ATI drivers. IMO, the 7900GTX is the better overall card, but I think it really comes down to price and preferance. A big ATI fanboy is going to buy the X1900 no matter what. An Nvidia fanboy will do the same with the 7900. For everyone else, I say buy whichever one is cheaper.

Already owning an SLI board has something to do with it as well. SLI is more mature and performs better (for now!) than crossfire. As such if you plan dual cards as I do, SLI is a prime choice. We'll see benches when I pick up my second gtx next month.

One thing that i hate about my sisters ATi laptop, is the catalyst drivers for it. They suck.

It kinda bugs me that i have spent so much money on a 7900GTX and then all you guys come along and start whining how the 7900GTX has **** picture quality. well ****. I paid for this damn card so let me enjoy it without having to doubt if i made the right choice.

now shush!

I woulden't say that...
The x1900XTX is only a little better than the 7900GTX, if you were running a rig with either a 7900GTX or x1900XTX and played games on it without knowing which card the rig had in it, you woulden't be able to tell the difference unless you checked.
But the 7900GTX is hard to come by because Nvidia didn't make enough G71's.
Stupid move.
I say it all comes down to avalibility and price, and it looks like the XTX wins both of those categories.
Also, there is no need to volt mod the x1900XTX, unlike the 7900GTX, because the x1900 series cards have built in voltage controll, which is great for overclocking. Personally, I haven't touched the voltages on my card, but I'm sure I could get a lot higher if I did. ANother thing: ATI drivers have Overclocking tools built into the drivers, unlike Nvidia where you need a 3rd party reg tweak.

I tested both 7800GTX vs X1800XTX. The reason I did not go with an Intel 630 @ 4.0GHz was the heat output after three or four hours of gaming. The reason I went with the 7800GTX was for SLi and the heat output of these cards is very minimal in comparison to the X1800XTX. The ATi cooling systems simply suck in comparison to the heatpipe solution that Nvidia employs.

I then tested the 7900GTX and X1900XTX for my wife's computer which is a 630 @ 4.0GHz. I went with the 7900GTX because of the cool card (~42C Idle and 65 Load) and quietness. I think the ATi has a slightly better visual and also the ability to render both HDR and AA is a plus but the card is noisy when playing games and hot, too damn hot for my taste otherwise I would have purchased ATi.

When ATi comes out with a cooler, quieter solution and with a bit more Crossfire maturation I very likely will make the move.

Where are you getting your information? In the U.S., the x1900xtx is cheaper than the 7900gtx.
