I thought the SLI hack was a BIOS flash? I don't know much about it.

lol @ the game performance difference. It shows the raw processing power advantage the i5 has.

did you look at the "game" fps tests? amd beat the crap out of it, relatively speaking ofc.

The i5 performs better at multimedia tasking, but he is only gaming, and would not notice the difference.

Well I'm done with this thread for now. Gave the OP a fantastic build. Gotta notice all the extras he gets with it.

Please consider AMD, they kick Intel in the butt with gaming performance / $$.

no im not a fanboy, intel is great but overpriced for just a gaming rig.

I like what I am seeing here. Also the GPU in either of your builds is way better than the GPU in his AMD build, for the most part.

I'm not running SLI, thats what the first comparison is.

Try this out for one. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/164?vs=180

And he has the ability to go CSX x2 or x3 in future.

Also i confused the bar charts on his comparison but I am telling you with your x4 at 4.0Ghz, you will not be getting any bottleneck via the cpu. and so you wont have low fps like the chart above indicates.

normally i would say AMD for a gaming computer but I got to say, with the i7 930 for $200 from Microcenter, that Intel has been kickin' sum a$$ recently. If I were to build a gaming system now I would get a i7 930 and a Asus X58 Sabertooth. As far as graphics:
~$150-5770
~$200-GTX 460 hands down
~$300-5850

EDIT: just get GTX 460 lol

The reason I listed the SLI one is because that was one of the builds Confessed showed me. and i dont know what CSX is.

Gotta totally agree with this Statement. The i7 930 is just some serious processing Power for little Money and the GTX 460 is the ultimate Bang for your Buck Card BUT if you want to play Metro 2033 on fully maxed out you will need atleast one GTX480
