hey guys...im back with the cs probblem...If u didnt read my last thread...I gave my brother a compaq 5320 US and it will run up to 72 fps in cs (when 72 is max im sure it would run 100 if i used the fps_max 100) Anyway.....it randomly drops down for 4 fps and my ping goes up to about 3-4 grand .... its a 1.5 ghz processor with 512 mb pc 133 ram and a 16 mb graphics card....i changed it out to a 32 mb card and it does the same thing....this is counter strike 1.6 so it should run on mostly anything. Any ideas on what the problem might be....because he keeps bothering me and my dad to play on our computers and we dont lik eit haha ... Thanks for your help

Well I was thinking that was an option...but when i first noticed the problem i thought it was just because the computer needed to be reformatted...so i completely reformatted the drive and reinstalled counterstrike. I updated it..and it just dosn't want to run. This problem also occurs when im watching videos in a web browswer...but I dont see how it could be the grapics card, because i switched out the 16 with a 32 and it acted the same way. Thanks for the suggestion... Keep 'em coming

is your video card compatible with his computer if so then try your card in his computer and see what happens then

if you reforamtted and reinstalled the game then it shouldnt be the game, does everything else work fine on the computer?

Nahh, mine is PCIe and that board only takes AGP. Everything on the computer runs fine...internet runs well, Word runs well, AIM runs well, but like when im on myspace and there is a video on somebodys page it will start lagging. When i try to watch a google video it also starts lagging. Arrr its a pain in my ass lol
Ty Keep it coming

spyware, run some programs like ad-adware SE and Ccleaner, they are free off google, if there are steady intervals between each spike it is more likely to be a software rather than hardware, like spyware, virus scan, windows update etc

are your video card drivers updated? if its lagging on videos then might be somekind of video card issue, possibly virus scan like byson said, make sure all that stuff is off
