I don't doubt that, but we're talkin about the base model (820 = 2.8GHz), while you may get 4GHz with an 840 = 3.2GHz stock.

I'm only saying this because I have an 830 (3GHz stock) and I have outstanding cooling; however, I've only been able to get mine to 3.91GHz so far (stable).

Yes. Many run 3:4, out of sync with the mem running faster than the fsb

Yes, download Prime 95 or folding at home. You want to make sure you have 2 instances of it running, one for each core.

RAM at 1:1 means that the CPU FSB is the same frequency as the memory. If you have DDR2-533 it is actually running at 266.5Mhz. So if your FSB is 200 Mhz, set your RAM to 400Mhz.

In your BIOS. When your computer is starting up and going through the POST, tap "delete" several times. It should say entering BIOS.

All BIOS's are set up differently. It should be somewhere like "Chipset Configuration," or "Un-locked Settings," or "Overclock Settings," or JumperFree Configuration," or "CPU configuration," It will probably not be initially visible. You will have to find a setting that enables you to adjust CPU parameters. Then it should appear.
