Beats me, I'm just telling you what was told to me by ASUS, and what I actually did and what worked on my board. I have my 300GB Sata as boot (40GB OS Partition) and 3 PATA HDs (total of 219GB) on the red buses and I had to press F6 and load drivers for them to work.

BUt that's a different topic

Now it's bugging me why he can't get his set-up to work.

Just Download all the newest drivers from ASUS's site. Well only those for YOUR Mobo ofcause

I don't remember what they call it, but it kind of explains itself when you see it. You can ofcause rule out Display driver and Lan driver, etc.

I don't know your bios, but perhaps you need to enable it? It might be under chipset features. It might be called something like Enable Bootrom.

Again you need to be sure of your Jumpersettings. Just like before. What worked in your old PC might need a rethinking.

Just a thourght. Those ports aren't set up for Raid are they?

Nonononono. You can NOT use your CDROM on those ports. ONLY HD's. Take your CDROM drive and put it in as SLAVE on the controler you have working. And maintain your (OS) Boot drive as MASTER on that controler.

Then put the second disc on the other(red) controler.

Those controlers (the red ones) dosn't support anything BUT HD's

Can you follow?
