I'M TRULY SORRY FOR MISPELLING YOUR NAME - IT'S MY FAULT! PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGY. I'm very sorry for spelling your name incorrectly - didn't meant to do that on purpose, just spelling wrong - that's. I do not meant in anyway to call you by that name. Again, I'm truly sorry for such error - WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. ddedicate

LOL - I said it was not funny anymore. It's NOT that big a deal.

It's all good. If I was in your situation I would look for a 2.8 - 3.2 Prescott processor and ramp it up to ~3.8GHz. Look for the E(0) revision.

ROPEY: How can I tell or ask that such CPU would has "the E(0) revision"? Can I ask the vendor to look for such info.? Unless he/she know how to run such CPU-Z program to ID the CPU, otherwise, it's quite impossible.

It's not an easy thing I agree. If you buy a new processor from Newegg there is not very much likelihood that it will be a C0 and even a D0. Very likely you will receive an E0 revision. Purchasing from stores can be difficult as many will not tell you what revision it is. Normally a stepping code ie. SL38Z will give you upon research the revision but your stepping says a revision D(0) and it is in fact a C(0). However, that is the exception, not the rule.

I "Thank You" sir for such valuable info. I'll go ahead and planning my purchase toward with newegg up coming days, and get back to you about how my OC project will progressing. At least up to this point I know what is the max. that my CPU can and can't OC.
Until then - I just want to say "THANKS" for every thing, my good man, Ropey. Don't mind if I look you up in the next couple of week...

Once you ask vendor code name such as SL7PL, then you can look up cpu info site (http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SL7PL.html) to see whether it has core stepping of E0.
