6800 GS AGP problems

i just upgraded from a 6600 LE to a BFGtech 6800GS OC 256, all i get is problems with it tho, it randomly goes haywire and all dodgyness and blocks and weirdness comes up on the screen and it completely freezes, i havnt even touched over clocking yet coz i want it 2 b stable. cooling is ok in my pc i have a slot fan takin the heat away from card, 1x 120mm extracting hot air at the back 1x 800 mm on the side intaking and 2x 80mm at the front intaking, the temp before i paly anything is about 40-43 degrees but after playing its about 61-64 is this too high? or what could the problem be please anyone

it may just be a bad card, contact BFG for an RMA and they should send you a new one...

If all your power connections are good. I agree with pbasil1. You could try editing the BIOS, but not if it's under warranty.

yup just a bad card i concur because artifacts at those temps should not be happening unless your getting bad power to your card...but especially at stock you should not be getting artifacts or any problems rma it

i have discovered it 2 b a power problem, the connector was in but one of the pins had moved out of the connector slightly so i guess the power suddenly stopped every now and again, it is running fine now and hasnt frozen or anything but the temperature is still about 60 degrees after playing a game on maximum settings although it is still running fine at this temp

Thats actually pretty good for a stock cooler. Mine was up to the mid 70's w an overclock w the stock cooler.

Glad you were able to find it! Those temps are fine. My 6800 used to run at ~74°C before I went to a Silencer NV5 Rev3 and then onto water. As long as you're not locking up and are artifact free, you're good to go!
