Yes, official support up to 1333 only. Higher speeds work just fine though. Performance wise, me and many others get better results with lower timings than anything else on AMD systems. Actual visible increases, not just benchmark jumps. Benchmarks are the only way I see a difference between those 2 speeds, but lower timings actually speeds up my rig. You should be able to squeeze some pretty tight timings out of 1600 sticks running at 1333. You will get way bigger gains out of higher NB speeds than anything.
MaxxMEM is a nice program for checking what you've done when tweaking RAM.
If it were me, I'd probably run them at 1600 since that is their stock speed. Then you can try OC'in them and see the differences for yourself.
My ripjaws are 1333 stock and the bandwidth increase does not justify running them OC'd to me.Edited by Baskt_Case - 9/7/10 at 7:29pm
