Ok I will try reseating my XP90 with AS5 later on this week when I get enough time. By the way, what is "remote temp"? I have all these temp numbers but don't know which one is which.

Edit\\\\ Now that I think about it, I don't think I put enough AS5. Most of it I scraped off with the sandwich bag, so there was only little left.

yes something is definately wrong...what are the specs for your fan in CFM? Maybe you just aren't pushing enough air through there. I got a gig of OC and a reduction of about 15c in temps...Make sure everything is seated right and dont overdo the AS5. This is a great heatsink and you should notice something

I have a fan controller to control the Sunon 92mm at the lowest possible setting (barely audible because I am annoyed by loud fans), but with the stock heatsink I had the same fan controller. I'm positive its not the fan's fault.

how much air are you puimping through then, out of curiosity. Maybe you should try lapping it and re appling the AS5. Do you have the fan blowing or sucking air? If its blowing air and your computer has no circulation then you will just be blowing the hot air on the hs over and over again.

It doesn't sound like you're getting a good energy transfer to your XP-90. AS5's job is merely to fill in the imperfections of both surfaces, not to form a layer between them. Copper has better thermal properties than AS5. Also, keep in mind that once you sit the XP-90 down, don't ever lift it up again or you run the risk of having air pockets that will ruin performance.

Yeah, there's no way that the xp-90 is not gonna give you better results than the stock cooler. I had a prescott 2.8 clocked to 3.6 and it was only pushing to 50C under load on rare occasions under my '90...

This has to be user error.

200 hours??? Does that mean it just takes 200 hours to reach full potential or you can't use for 200 hours after applying. I really don't feel like waiting 8.3 days after I build my computer to use it.

No, you want to use it for those 200 hours. Use it like normal, and make sure it is turned on and off every once in a while. Best to just use it like normal though.

i.e. you're best results will come after the as5 has had time to cure with several cycles of heating and cooling.
