Awesome!!! Pretty easy hey?

You do need to complete 10 units to prime the key to receive bonus points. Just do 10 regular SMP units under your own name with the key you will be using for the TC. To edit the client just open the terminal and enter ./fah6 -configonly and that will take you back to setup.

Just remember before you switch to -bigadv you will need to give the VM at least 3.1gb because a 6904 unit will use up to 2.9gb ram. You change the ram same way you changed the core count.

It did come up in search, I was just to stubborn to try that first! I did it old school going from directory to directory like a morron mad.gif.

Edit: Ops, my bad. I need to hit refresh. I hope I am not polluting this thread, but maybe our conversation will help someone else who searches for the same issue one day biggrin.gif

Cool. I will complete my 10 WUs under windows, and then start folding bigadv. I have already set the RAM to 4GB. If I am folding I won't need my RAM for much else anyway. If I am not gaming (and I don't have much time to), then I will only be doing light web surfing while folding.

Is there a way to pause the folding under VM? Or do you need to exit the VM entirely? I would hate to loose any progress if I needed to reboot or something. I guess I should search for another tutorial.

Thanks so much for all the help. You can now say you trained an apprentice on another continent biggrin.gif

2nd Update: Wow this VM is way faster, I am doing a 6099 (whatever that is, and it is going 1% every 5.5minutes. That would finish the job in a little over 9 hours.

Well. I've shut down the VM, good to know it is ready to go. I am still folding under windows till I get my first 10 WUs done. Hopefully my OC holds stable and I can finish it tonight. I am a firefighter by trade, and I will probably be up more than once tonight (unfortunately), but if I am lucky I should FINALLY see this 1st WU complete sometime before dawn. Wish me luck. thumb.gif

Had another BSOD x124. Based on progess it looks like it occured about 3-4 hours after my last post. I was running 1.4v, all C-states disabled. Now trying 1.39v. With the million bios combinations possible, I could see this taking a very long time. What is funny is I can run benchmarks all day long and it is stable for those. I thought maybe the computer locking me out was causing the issue, so I disabled all power features (which I see hertz suggested to a powerranger also).

I am glad robbo2 is still here for the rest of the month, it may take me that long to get this thing stable. rolleyes.gif

The dreaded x124 bsod! it's not so clear cut what that error can be on sandy bridge. It's usually vcore or vccio voltage but if you have your ram running at 1600 then chances are it's the vcore.

Yeah, I read about the x124 errors in several posts. It seem Vcore is the most common fix. I am trying my way down from 1.4v. I tried 1.39v got the error yesterday. Based upon my Stanford stats, I am guessing it occured sometime around 12pm pacific yesterday. I just got to my computer this morning, so I couldn't restart it until now.

Now I am trying 1.38v.

UPDATE: 1.38v is a no go. Trying 1.375.

2nd UPDATE: 1.375 didn't work either. Now trying 4.7ghz at 1.45v. I figure if I am going to do the work I might as well go for some big GHZ
