Yeah, I feel lucky. If I could get that to happen every time, then crashes would be bad, but not catastrophic.
I definitely have the OCing bug right now. While dialing back the RAM, I decided to give 4.9ghz and 1.425v a shot (with stock RAM). I tried 5.0 once a week ago but it needed 1.45v and it delivered 1.54v (way too much) per CPU-Z. 5.0 crashed at 1.425, but maybe 4.9 will hold. I know switching too many variables is bad, but I figure I am here and can watch it till tomorrow so why not. Temps are only a little hotter, 1.4v was 72C, 1.425 is 75C. I keep updating my notes on my OC log post
, so I have a good record of what caused what.
UPDATE: That was quick. 4.9ghz@ 1.425v BSODx124 in 10 minutes. The good news is auto restarted also! That was worth the test alone. Looks like 4.9ghz needs more than 1.425v. I am not sure I want to go higher for now without H2O cooling or something. Back to 4.8!Edited by valkeriefire - 8/5/12 at 6:45am
