That is a link to some synthetic benchmarks compared to other cards.

The 7600 SLI setup beat out the 7900GTX and the X1900XTX, the top of the line GPUs from their respective companies. I'd say it's a pretty good buy if the price is right for your friend.
@orange it seems these benchs (in above quote) prove differently and show the 7600gts in sli leading
however i would say get the one 7900gt as then if he decides not to go with dx10 (dunno what weirdo would do that) he could probly pick up another used 7900gt or a new one for cheap and then go with sli

I think 2 7600GT would be a nice investment seeing those benchmarks. They run with no external power too so i doubt it'll be a strain on ones PSU. But it's a bit expensive for me seeing you can get a 7900gt for a like $50 less and dx10 around the corner. But if your friend can, gofor SLI. Near performance to a 7900GTX while saving a chunk at the same time! I would imagine both o/ced you'll see wicked performance!

More Benchmarks from Anandtech.com:

This upholds that 2 7600GT in SLI is the best in terms of price to performance.

I say go for the 2 7600GT's in SLI, it will rock!
