OCN has agreed to sponsor me in the monthly HWBot challenge, this month we'll be benching a gt 220 GPU using 3dmark 01, 3dmark 03 & heaven benchmark dx9 benchmarks. http://hwbot.org/competition/hoc_sep10

I decided to go with the XFX GT220 following pizzaman's advice that higher clocked memory may well be the deciding factor in this competition (much like OCN's recent HD5450 comp.) & the XFX ddr3 card has the highest stock clocked memory.

After removing the stock heatsink & fan I see samsung memory modules, a good sign.


So I put some heatsinks on them


Also an Arctic Cooling Accelero for the core


Ready for some stock clock tests.

Here`s a few pics of the mods, did the vgpu first, added some 2200 uf 6.3 volt caps to the back & water cooled it

Here's what I could do with stock volts & the cpu on water, card maxes at about 786/1170/1710. Good enough for the current 1st place overall.

I wish I had the 2nd power phase for your GPU ;( ...would need another sacrificial twin though..to scavenge the 2x other mosfets and inductor from...then just need to add that last cap..and = functional 2x power phases for GPUv.
