Overclocking too easy..any problem?

Thread Starter
I just overclock my P4 Northwood 1.6Ghz by going to the bios and set my CPU/memory to 4/3 and the board gives me the option to change to 2.1Ghz from 1.6Ghz without changing anything else...

my multiplier is x16
FSB 133.3Mhz
Bus speed 533.4Mhz
CPU Voltage 1.5V

it seems too easy since the guides that I saw requires more steps...is there anything I'm missing or need to worry about?

Well first of all u dont need to put CPU/RAM to 4/3 because u just started(so i asume). At first just up the FSB by about 5, boot, then test to see if stable with prime 95 or OCCT(there r other stability things i just use those).
You may choose to put the FSB up by more at first but when it starts to be unstable u need to take it down a litle at a time till it is. When its unstable then run a divider, get bak to us when get to ur highest stable without a divider

-GILL-
p.s fill out ur system specs in user cp so we can hrlp u out a bit more

Those settings you have stated look fine
Did you lock the AGP clocks at 66.6MHz and the PCI clocks at 33.3MHz, or as close as possible? If not these not to be locked to prevent problems

What temperatures does you system run at (idle and load)?
