Hi Guys! Im new and want to know if its possible to overclock my rig!

Intell (Sorento) 945GTP mobi
Intell 2.8GHZ Pentium D
2X512Mb DDR2 Hynix Ram
120 Gig SATA Drive


Please Any Hellp would be graitly appr!!!!!

Well you would be able to once you get rid of the Intel mobo..This is because all overclocking options are locked out in the bios in those motherboards. With the newr more latest ones the overclocking options are a little more unlocked but i doubt that in your case.

There is software you can use to oc within windows but its never as good as the bios oc'ing plus its never permanent. I would reccomend getting a new motherboard.

And if u have some url"s u could share with me to find some oc software i have CPUFSB but it does not work!

The ASUS P5WD2-E-Premium is the best OC board out there right now, it's almost like it was made specifically for OCing the 9xx series Intel CPUs.

The P5WD2-Premium I have is the #2 board


The trouble is, in your location, these boards are amazingly expensive compared to other boards. So it depends on how much you want to spend.

You will definatly want to stay with an Intel chipset on the board, stay arway from nForce, SIS, or VIA chipsets. The P5LD2 from ASUS is another pretty good board for OCing the dual cores and is usually a little cheaper.
