Steel Series Xai.. - Page 12

I have received the Xai and I have been very impressed. It's a lot bigger then I thought it would be. Also looking at the pictures on the top the material they use looks rough so I thought this could get really uncomfortable but then I realised it's really smooth and comfortable. This works well with claw and palm grip people, I'm a palm person myself but after feeling it with a craw like grip it still seems really comfortable. I've played a lot of games with the mouse since and I haven't had sweat on it once which is the first. The buttons are somewhat clicky and firm which I think overall is better. I haven't done any profiling yet or paid any attention to the LCD screen. I have set up my configuration which is in the screen shot below. I mainly play Counterstrike, Counterstrike source and it seems to be great so far. Also they have a button which flips the CPI over with the LED on and off, although my old MX518 had two buttons which turnt up the DPI and down but then again you don't know what they're on.

Overall I love the mouse, although there has been a huge speculation on the accel I have tested it on my steel series soft pad and it works completely fine. The mouse is really comfortable and fits the hand nicely. Also it has a really nice glide to it. I would really considering in getting this mouse! It's perfect!

Yea

Alltough it would unbalance the Xai but that shouldn't be a real issue depending on the actual weight reduction.

What screenshot?

I doubt the LCD screen weighs much... Certainly not enough to make it worth removing it... Also I don't find the XAI to be THAT heavy or THAT big...

For example it's WAY smaller than the ****ty mamba...

Guess from a former SteelSeries R&D Manager: couple of grams (4-5?)

I would guess more.

True but it could be lighter.

What does the former SteelSeries R&D Manager say on a XAI side button's inability to maintain keypresses, they all are single-click buttons and cant be assigned to, say, running.

The Xai is in a very lucky position of offering something where Razer doesnt(aka sensor), at least yet.

Cant find a pic, but GitzZz cut off all that plastic too on his mouse, cant remember which one it was. Half the mouse essentially. lol. (gitzzz - afaik the only progamer up to date to be accused of aimbotting on a LAN, people watched him and couldnt believe, its human skill.)

Definately... Main reason I switched!

Also you're right on the Macro-Problems... The entire macro interface is ****ed beyond belief... I just resigned to not using it...

True... I'd prefer it lighter also and the smaller shape of the Kinzu...

But and that's the problem: There is no such thing as the perfect mouse for me right now... And none on the horizon either...

Actually there might be one on the horizon from a new company, but I forgot the name right now... It's the one in two different colors and 2 different shapes... Anybody recall?

EDIT:
Found it!
Company: Zowie Gear
Mouse name: EC1 and EC2

The macro manager is funny. It actually assigns macros shifted by 2. Say if you have MacroX, MacroY, MacroZ. In order to assign X, Z must be selected. Clicking on X makes the "program" shift by 2, aka X-2 and since there is nothing there, it instantly crashes. Overall it looks like the entire interface is written in Visual Basic.Net

I don't find it heavy at all. Also it was just bigger than I thought.

12 grams lighter and it would rival the IMO1.1 in terms of weight
