Steel Series Xai.. - Page 8

I'm sure it has changed with the Half-Life 2 engine - especially with the new HL2EP2 engine that was added for Source.
I hear they're adding DirectInput support so you don't get these clipping issues with high-DPI mice.

Oh right nice I found it on ebuyer when it wasn't on there a couple of weeks ago, next day delivery for £3 as well which is really cheap. I'll end up getting it next week! I'll let you know what I think of it on this thread!
Go for the XAI... I have like 15 years experience with gaming and gaming-mice... I use the XAI right now... Can't find a better mouse right now...

I also tested it on a HUGE variety of pads... You'll be golden as long as it's a hard-pad...

The IntelliMouse sensor has prediction AND smoothing - both of which you don't want if you're a real FPS gamer (though some people can get accustomed to it - which is great, but not everybody can do that).
No, it don't.

The intellimouse/WMO sensor is near perfect. The only thing it's lacking in is DPI and max malfunction speed.

If you want to know a fun fact, a majority of CEVO-P cs source players use a mx518 for some odd reason. I believe that engine benefits players with mouse prediction where as 1.6 is the complete opposite.

It has negative accel. on cloth pads, badly. (the G500 uses the S9500 as well)
I didn't deny that some people have neg. accel. on the QcK, I just said that I don't have it.
Allthough to be fair I have a beta firmware but I didn't have a problem with the about a dozen firmwares (including official releases) before.

By the way, same sensor (Xai and G500 don't really have the same sensor) doesn't mean same performance.

Just see if it works for you with the soft pad and if it doesn't just use your desk or get a good hard pad once you have the money... Takes like 3 minutes to get used to the new pad...

You underestimate the complexity of finding the best mousepad for yourself.

I doubt it... I have like 10 different ones...
If you can play on every pad the same, good for you.
For me it's not that simple and I also own more than 10 pads.

Then you're most likely either not on a cloth pad, or not playing low sens.

Making claims doesn't mean anything to me, it's just like all the people who say their PTE hasn't had issues, yet many (myself included) people have experienced the problems that sensor is ridden of first hand. I provided you a video of the negative acceleration in action on the S9500, to prove my claim wrong you're going to require proof of your own. Not just the anecdotal 'it doesn't happen to me'.
