I would try a reinstall, while your temps may drop when the as5 cures, it's gonna be like 1-3C you should be about 10C less I would think.

Thread Starter
Thanks for all the inputs. I will try to reinstall the BT this afternoon and let you guys know. Also, what method would be most suitable for applying as5? should I just apply BB size amount of as5 and let the BT squash it? or should I use a credit card or something to spread the as5 around the CPU? I tried the first method on the current BT thats installed...

They say to just use the pea sized amount as not to use that much but i still spread it out a bit. I had some porbs getting lower temp with the big typhoon until i tightened the screws alot, it seemed to make a big dif.

hmm i dont know what safe temps are either, im now doing dual prime on mine at 2600 at the moment and my load temps are about 51/52C, from reading other threads i think this is high but i have also seen other lpaces were people have had about 60 on load temps???

Could any one say what the complete max temp is? supposedly it says on AMDs sits its 70C but i cant find that any were??

50-55C is MAX! Try to keep it below 50C, I would only let it go to 55C if I were getting better cooling in the next month. Altho with the dual cores there are very few apps that will heat it up like dual prime in realworld situations. Even my combat flight sim Pacific Fighters which will actually stress test a pc better than prime95 (been prime stable for 8hrs and still crashed after 2hrs online, lol) didn't heat the cpu past 45C when I was on air and dual prime loaded out at 52C.

ahh ok so my computer at 52C dual prime is basically ok ish, as no other game will push it at the monment?

i only really play BF2, CS:S and UT04, and i dont even need to clock my cpu for them to work.

What is the temp point were it will start to melt down? or burn out, or what ever happens im not sure
