Ok guys I need to know what kinda mobo to get for my buget Dual core, I wanna get a good oc'ing board but I'm an AMD guy so I don't know the good intel boards.

Newegg preferred

Budget baby

I prefer the performance and OC abilities of the board over the price.

Budget?

The ASUS P5LD2

Slightly higher "budget".........

ASUS P5WD2

.....and higher.......

ASUS P5WD2-Premium

........and......higher

ASUS P5WD2-E-Premium

Pick your budget

Too bad you missed the sale, newegg was selling the 805s for $104 last week.

If you have more than 1 Optical drive, you'll need a SATA HD though, for either of them.

The best overclocking will come from the i975X chipset (P5WD2-E Premium), but the i955X chipset is also very good (P5WD2 Premium).

As far as vDimm, most DDR2 are in the range of 1.8-2.2v. Looser timings being around 1.8 and tighter at 2.2v.

I recommend getting DDR2 667 or better: DDR2 800 RAM. You should also get 2x 1GB sticks because 1 Gig just doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore.

This is looking more and more expensive at each thing I look at. I really wanted to get into the dual core pentium world too.

Mayb I'll just go with a Dual core AMD and sell my 3700+SD

Aw, come on, don't give up that easy. We'll get you into the Dark Side.

Gimme a budget, I'll put together a list for you. I love shopping for parts

here's "budget"

P5LD2 - $118.99

Intel Pentium D 805 - $136.00

Corsair XMS 1GB(2x512MB) DDR2 675 - 98.00 ($78 after mail in rebate

TOTAL
$332.99

If you need a SATA drive

Seagate 80GB 7200RPM SATA 3/gbs - $51.00

NEW TOTAL
$383.99

That is a good base budget system. You can add all the way up to the highest 9xx CPUs at a later time.

For just $40 more you can get the P5WD2 instead and get some better stabibility and OC.

I definetly enjoy it, but there not much to do in my city, it's pretty boring.

There is one thing everyone in this town seems to enjoy.

It starts with D and ends with rinking
