Opty 165, A8N-Premium or Lanparty Ultra-D

Thread Starter
Okay, So I'm going to buy the Opty 165 and 2gb G.Skill DDR500 ram (black ones, 3-4-4-8). I saw that both these mobo's have been getting good oc's with the opty, by reviews I think it sounds like Ultra-D a little better.

My problem is that, I currently have a XP-120 and if I get an Ultra-D, I will have to spend around 60 for a new HS and shipping. I was wondering if the ultra D is worth the extra $60, or the performance difference between the 2 isn't substantial enough to pay more.

Technically, the Ultra-D buy would only be about $20 more because the A8N-Premium is SLI so it costs more. Also if particular ram works better with either mobo, I'd like some suggestions on that too.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

The DFI may OC better in the long run, but I've heard it can get confusing and overwhelming w/ DFI boards. I have the Asus, and it's working great for me, so my preference would be the Asus.

BT has proven time and again to be a bit better than the 120...it's really a matter of preferance though...and if the thing will fit or not. BT makes up for it;s lack of spread with the fact that it's freakin tall....

Okay so I think I'm going to go for the A8N... premim or deluxe?

And the G.Skill DDR500 will work with this right?

I have had lots of success with my opty 165 and Ultra-D

Ya that RAM should work fine. I have had good results with it as well.
