Lets talk about TNT.

Anybody know the best way to make epic craters? Ive tried putting big piles of TNT (50+ blocks), blowng them, and then doing it again in the bottom of the hole. But it makes a pretty narrow hole, I want a really big crater down to the bedrock. Ive also tried digging straight down and making a vertical column of TNT, but it does the same thing.

Dig a 6x6 hole straight to the bottom, fill it with TNT, if you want, every 5 or so blocks make several tunnels outward from the collumn, going in different directions. It will make a very large hole.

He's talking about running carts parallel to your track to use physics glitches from two carts hitting each other on a slope. I enjoyed that too, since it takes some thinking to set up the rail system to boost in the right direction without messing up the booster coming back.

Greetz
I have been running Minecart Mania for months now on my little server and it does make life easier in many ways. Switchable Obsidian brake blocks is a pretty big deal for me. However boosters don't seem to work or be needed since friction is eliminated and gravity all but nonexistant. Diagonal tracks work somewhat more quickly and smoothly on original however. I've managed to make some massive roller coasters that are quite fun but loops are impossible because track won't curl back in the vertical except at the bottom of a "V", but not past a single 45 degrees.

I am now wondering about dirigibles and biplanes. Anyone tried these and offer feedback?

I haven't played minecraft yet, but have seen some gameplay, and I don't understand what the craze is about. Could someone explain what's so amazing about it to me?

The same reason people liked playing with legos as a kid. You figure out how to build stuff, and it can be fun. There's also an RPG element to give the game more depth.

Problem is this. You start playing and you think of something to make. Let's say a house, because we're making a city in Mac's server. You get this idea for a house, then you look at all the blocks you can pick from. You get this basic idea, then you get started. As you're working you get another idea, and another, and they get crazier and crazier. All of a sudden, you have a fortress, complete with a dungeon, bed chamber, lookout towers, a farm, and then you figure you need to build a small medieval town surrounding it. Well if it's the middle ages, you might as well get sieged, so you building ballistas and siege towers around the town coming for the castle. All of a sudden, you realize it's been a month, and you've sunk 100 hours into doing nothing but making a replica of a castle. And you regret none of it.

Welcome to Minecraft.
