Bump for minecraft related activity, not much going on with the game recently eh?

What's the best Minecraft Server software for SMP these days? As far as options with full support, it's pretty much between Bravo and C#raft (Chraft).

Anyone have experience with either of them? I just use the regular one to play with friends but have been meaning to try some better/more efficient software.

I used to play it on my laptop a little bit, laggy as hell, currently on my laptop cause my
GPU is currently being RMA'd and my mobo doesn't have onboard video...

I've been playing a lot on my computer, but all I do is mine cause I'm so uncreative it's not even funny. I just have a little wooden house for myself filled with stacks of stuff.

Any ideas and what I should build and such? I don't mod anything in single player cause I find a world more fun when I don't hack..

Learning how to use redstone is fun.

Start by making pressure plates going to doors in your house, and go from there.

Yep I think it's great to learn how to do some things with redstone, it's a whole other side of minecraft. Try simple things to start with, then move onto more advanced things. For example, maybe make a door open with a button from the other side of a room, then try adding a delay with redstone repeaters so that you can press it, walk over to the door and then it will open.

What I've been getting into recently is mushroom farming, those little shrooms are great, they heal alot of health but the problem is they take a long time to grow, hence farming being an important part of persuing mushroom related shenanigans.

There's alot of really great movies on youtube, but the two experts on shroom farming are Hypnotizd and Generikb. Recommend checking out their videos if you want to learn that kinda stuff.

Edit (almost forgot!): But yeah, on my server question, does anyone know the best Beta server software these days?

Indeed.
I've progressed from making simple levers and plates to open doors to making completely hidden redstone piston walls, xor gates to open and close concealed rooms... Next project is an automated wheat harvester (soooo basic...) as well as some sort of minecart station and travel system.

If anyone is looking for a creative server, I'm always looking to include a couple more people

I've never tried creative, it's just the same as regular minecraft but with all the survival elements taken out of it, quick block removal and noclip, right?
