Name the server "Anarchist's Lounge" and frequently discuss the Anarchist's Cookbook while building effigies of major political leaders and destroying them with TNT lachen.gif

A fun game I put together on the server. It's much - much - much more difficult than it looks. Been at it for 2 hours and still have a 20% success rate only. The bigger platforms and the last 3 platforms mess with you oh so often. Kevlo can confirm this. tongue.gif

Still great fun.

Does anyone have any serious server reccommendations? I search for lists, and there's always a bunch of less than legit sites giving me random lists of servers, half of which are either outdated, not connecting, full, or boring.

I'm willing to commit to a single server and be an active participating member, but the very few servers I do connect to, seem to be unwelcoming to newcomers (lots and lots of rules, but no explanations as to where to go to do what, or how to do anything) or are merely for showing off what others have built.

Surely there must be some servers worth my time?

There's probably a reason for all that.

I think it's usually considered "polite" to introduce the main features of a server to the new player. And rules are rules. They are there for a reason. People don't like when others ruin their game, and some rules are reasonable, such as not touching other peoples stuff, or griefing in any way whatsoever.

And perhaps the biggest mistake is joining random servers on the list. The nature of minecraft multiplayer better fits if a person has at least made arrangements of joining the server ahead of time. This makes for a much better introduction, and people generally welcome you much - much better. I think it's understandable. Minecraft servers are usually not that "public". smile.gif

If interested in a mostly SMP server where people mostly just mess around with miscellaneous things, yes.

This, i have joined many other Servers, and alot of the time people are dicks to the newbies, but on Zant's server, a private server, mind you, it has been a huge amount of fun, whereas before it was never much fun.
