ATI Radeon X1800xt with NVIDIA Chipset??

Thread Starter
I'm currently buliding a system. I have Asus A8n32-SLI Deluxe motherboard which have the NVIDIA Nforce 4 SLI X16 chipset and ATI RADEON X1800XT video card (crossfire card). I am not going to have a multi-GPU system.

I just realized that it's a i have a NVIDIA chipset board and an ATI card, STUPID ME? My question is that, will i get better performance if i have a Geforce 7900 GTX (NVIDA card) installed? I know the ATI out performs the Geforce, however, i have a NVIDIA board. any comments are welcome, including YOU"RE STUPID but please explain....

thank you..

Wow, this thread is gonna get ugly...and fast.

There is no problem running your card on that chipset. Some people will claim that there is a difference running similar chipsets, but the difference if any is within standard deviation.

I only chose to run ATI + ATI because I wanted Crossfire eventually, if I was not concerned with Crossfire, I'd be running a DFI Expert with nF4 chipset

wow ... you might be right...

i just posted a few mins ago and i already got a reply...

thanks you for the inputs... that's what i thought but i don't claim myself to be a computer wiz/expert... so thanx again...

Since the radeon out performs the nvidia, i think it will serves me well when i upgrade to Win Vista... with that crazy 3D GUI they have.. probably suck up everything i have...
