I bought 2 GB (2x 1gb) of Crucial DDR2-800... when I get them I'm going to RMA my g.skill... I'm just hoping that they're all Micron D9's so I don't have any OC'ing issues b/c I'm going to use 4gb of Ram... upgrading to XP 64-bit... I was going to get another 2 gb of g.skill but it's sold out everywhere...

Wow, 4 gig of ram! I can remember upgrading to 1 meg from 640k not that long ago (91' or something on my brand new 286). I also got a 40 meg HD which I thought I would never fill. I have a 4 gig flash drive now, that's like 5 cd's worth of data? I wish I could upgrade MY memory, it fails me a lot these days. Just stick a new SD memory chip behind my ear and be good for a few more years.

It's good you bought your new ram now Cowboy, looks like prices are starting to climb a bit. Hopefully your RMA goes quick too.

At a quick glance, we have about 85k right now.

I can install my G0 Quad and fold with 2 console versions, that should do it.

225k should be a solid record for anyone to beat for a while.

new ram is installed, I'm going to be reformatting tonight or tomorrow so I'll have a day or two of down time. I ordered the dominator active cooler for the ram too franken so we'll see if that helps! I'll have to re OC since it's new ram but I expect a similar performance. ttyl off to my roomate's rugby game

Well I'm very glad i have a Linux machine now
my old windows folding machine had a hard drive failure and the hard drive just happened to be the one my wife stored all here digital photos on without back-ups.
well i put in a new hard drive and tried to recover anything i could from the old and everytime i plugged it i i either got the blue screen of death soon after start-up or it not reconized. so by just as a last resort i thought i would throw it into the folding machine and the ubuntu brought it up without a problem.
I don't know what made it work but it works in the folding rig so i ran it for a little to get everything off of the drive with no problems but i still took it out because i don't want it to screw up the new record (230k). if there is any chance it will kill this machine it will.

but anyway in the long run "thanks to folding my wife loves me again"

Hehee, that's great TooBadd! Funny how things work out sometimes.

That sure is an awful feeling when your HD dies and you think about everything you just lost, and the relief when you're able to get it back. Nice work.

230k?
