WC build log for my rig - Page 16

They're running a deal on it right now 10% off. Go to the "What's in your loop" thread in the WC section. That LiquidCosworth guy posted a Promo code for 10% off your purchase.

yeah, i saw that. I wanted to see how it was working out for other people before making the jump. Also, I think it would be cheaper to go in w/ someone else who lives nearby and then split the handling charge.

preliminary testing shows about a 7-8 degree drop in temps

I screwed the cap on the res too tight though, and now I can't get it open to add the uv dye...

oh, and my gpu is about the same 32-33 degrees. so my cpu is down about 7 degrees and my gpu is down about 15

Wait until you load up that GPU and it doesn't go over 42°C. That's where water is awesome. It keeps those full load temps under better control over a broader range of ambient temps.

yeah, I noticed that. here are my temps right after loading my system by folding and playing css

I'm lovin these temps... but this pump is going to drive me insane!!!! I tinkered around w/ it and it and I can't get it quieter. I can't even hear any of my case fans over it.

well I'm wondering if there isn't something wrong w/ it. cause it sounds like there's some pebbles running through it... but there aren't any air bubles in the pump or in my lines. freddy's fix for the via aqua pumps doesn't work on this one.

The pebbles noise is normal. Fred's fix eliminates that exact sound in the Aquas.

sigh... that's what I was afraid of. I took apart my pump to see if I could do that fix to it and I couldn't figure out a way to do it.

well seeing as I got it done I thought I'd post some pics

side of my case so you can see all my goodies... lights off and no flash

front of my case w/ the door shut

front of my case w/ the door open so you can see my res

You can also see that I wrapped my pump in a green towel... lol it makes the noise bearable. bigval said he's had his L35 wrapped up in a t-shirt for ever and hasn't noticed any inceras in temps. I've been watching my temp sensor that is attached to my res and it hasn't gone up (actually it went from 27 ro 26) so I don't think it's heated up too bad cause a hot pump would be putting more heat in the water. my cpu is still loading at 34 max so I should be allright for now.

I may try to get a differnet pump cause I don't want this one wrapped up all the time. can anyone suggest a good pump that won't break the bank (ideally that I could get for about what I could sell this pump for)

I also still have some bubbles in my res... is this normal? no matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of them. they're only at the top so they aren't making it through my loop at all.
