Did you soldered the inductor in parallel to the existing one? That should worsen your results... higher ripple and lower total inductance.

Really?? Pigging backing them like that typically helps vdrop and vdroop. Normally get a .1-.2v increase.

Thats what I have learned so far from guys who are familar with this kind of technical matters. Keeping it simple you can say, adding caps in parallel and inductors in series.
