Have they fixed the menu frame rate issue in starcraft 2?

I'm about to start it for the first time and I'm afraid of slaughtering my video card.

If your video card burns out from rendering 500 frames a second, it's a bad card and you need to replace it. It's less stress than Furmark anyway.

You can always apply variable.txt fix if you are unsure.

Easy fix : V Sync on or the frame cap.

im sure a 460 will be fine...my 2 5770's handle anything i throw at it...i never heard of people worrying about start menu frame rate lol

I would just cap the fps to 30 in the menu. That's what I did

I thought they fixed that way back in the beta... if not, you can always try the ini file fix:

Add the following lines to Documents\\Starcraft II\\variables.txt

frameratecapglue=30
frameratecap=60

Or whatever you want to use for the framerate cap.

Uncapped frame rates aren't going to harm you video card unless it's already defective.
