BFG 7900GTX Overclocking problem !

Thread Starter
Hey guys, need some help here, i bought the BFG 7900GTX OC stock a few days ago, trying to overclock it.

Stock speeds are 670/1640 and i can max to 705/1720

Im using Rivatuner and Coolbits but cant get past the testing phase before applying the new settings.

I havent been getting a decent Framerate boost in games like COD2 FEAR or Tomb Raider Legend.

Any advice ?

The card comes factory overclocked and often times the ones that do won't go that much higher.
Please fill out your system specs under the USER CP link at the top of the main page and we will be able to help you better. With that vid card it's likely your low fps is caused by something else possibly bottlenecking the card.

I don't think you're going to see a majority of the 7900 series OC above 700 mhz on the core. Before the cards were released, the 3rd party manufacturers begged and pleaded NVidia for 700 cores, but it just wasn't in the chips and the gpu speed was lowered. If you're running 705, you can't really complain much. I'm keeping a close eye on the OCs of this series because I'm thinking about buying a new card.

jeez thats a beautiful computer!! your cpu shouldnt even be bottlenecking that card too much if at all..especially at 4.2! A bad card maybe??i'm kinda stumped..what are your bench scores?

Hey guys, just a quick screenshot of what the new Tomb Raider Legends looks like, with full graphics options enabled.

I am quite impressed with the card so far, but still, the next generation content option, if enabled, really kills the framerate down to about 15-25 fps.
