Guide for Physx in 2 steps.

Let me just start out by saying this is my first guide so be nice! I'll update if things change or people have suggestions. Thanks!

How to get Physx Working

Summery: This guide is for people who have an ATI card for their primary display adapter and also have a compatible Nvidia Physx card installed

Does this involve Dummy plugs, modifying windows files or using old Drivers?
No! No hardware modifications, windows mods, or old drivers are used in this modification. It's a simple .exe file from http://physxinfo.com.

Can I use Nvidia Physx without an Nvidia card?
No! You must have a Nvidia card that is compatible with Physx to be able to have GPU processing of Physx. See the list below.

I have a Crossfire System *2 ATI cards that are used to process 3d renderings* and wanted to know if this mod would work for my system?
Yes, It will work. I have done this mod on my old system *4870x2 with a GTS250 and my new one which is 2x5830's with a GTS250. It will work no matter why type of Crossfire you have.

What Nvidia cards are compatible?
The below is a list from Nvidia on all GPU's that support their Physx. I have not tested all these myself, but as a rule of thumb that I go by is: only get a card with GDDR3, GDDR4, GDDR5, anything else isn't worth your time or money * Ex. DDR2, DDR3*

GeForce GTX 465

GeForce® 9800 GTX
GeForce® 8800 GTS

GeForce® 9600 GT
GeForce® 8800 GT
GeForce® 9600 GSO 512
GeForce® 8800 GS
GeForce® 9600 GSO
GeForce® 8600 GTS
GeForce® 9500 GT
GeForce® 8600 GT

*List provided by Nvidia.com

What do I need?
The only things you need are Current Drivers for each of your video cards installed *Catalyst Control Center and Nvidia Control panel.* You will also need the physx mod file found http://physxinfo.com/news/4104/new-p...0514-leaked-2/ <---there.

Step 1

Once you have all the Drivers downloaded and installed from your respected card manufacturers, go into where you downloaded the physx mod and extract just the " Hybrid-Physx-Mod-1.04ff.exe " to your desktop.

Step 2
Then just double click on the exe file you extracted and you shall be greeted by this:

Just hit apply. It will do it's magic and normally takes about 2 seconds to do everything.

When finished, it will look like this:

Checking to make sure you have Physx

You can do a number of things:

Use GPU-Z to see the gpu has been enabled for physx like this:

You can use FluidMark to see it in action. It's a great tool and I love using it. It's small, quick, and super easy. The download link is here: http://www.geeks3d.com/wp-content/pl...oad.php?id=136

If you use fluidmark, you'll know very quickly if you have physx because everything will be super smooth.

You can also run 3DMark Vantage and that uses physx so you'll see a good increase in performance although some people call it cheating.

There are a few others but for the most part once you have that done the modification, it's done and done. no tinkering around trying to trick the system or w/e.

Here's what it's like in Mafia 2:

AND YOU'RE DONE! ENJOY!!!!

*I make no claim of any of the software or hardware above. This is just a compilation of all the guides I've seen online and what actually works. I did not create, develop, or hack any of the above software or hardware. Use at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any losses you might have while using this modification such as: loss of limb, flying fecal matter, and/or blindness.
