Whats a good video card - Page 3

So okay, I've been think about this for a little while, and not knowing the answer is starting to bug me.

Is there any real difference between the 6600GT I posted and the 6800?

Heres the specs:

6600GT:
Core Clock: 500MHz
PixelPipelines: 8
Memory Clock: 900MHz
Memory Interface: 128 bit
Memory Type: GDDR2
OpenGl: 2.0
Link:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150133
6800:
Core Clock: 325MHz
PixelPipelines: 12
Memory Clock: 600MHz
Memory Interface: 256 bit
Memory Type: DDR
OpenGl: 1.5
Link:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130263

The 6600GT has got the higher clocks, while the 6800 has 4 more pixelpipelines. Does that make any difference? Also, will the differences between the memory interface, type and OpenGl make any real difference bewteen the two cards?

Some thoughts on this would be nice because I'd like to learn if there are any differences, and why.

BTW: Thank you for the posts before hand

yes there are differences but the 6800 is still a great card, you could force open gl 2.0 with rivatuner, more pipes allow for faster graphics proccesing, it has 256bit ddr its very overclockable..i really think that the 7600gt would do you so much better then anything though..or is that out of the picture? the x850xl will beat the 6800 and the 6600gt

higher clocks dosnt always mean better performance there are advantages and disadvantages in both, and the gpu is a 6800

Ummmm..... Where do you think I could find a cheap 7600GT? I looked at newegg and they got an eVGA 7600GT for like $194 w/ shipping....
The $194 is a little bit to high, anyone know where I could find a cheaper one from somewhere besides ebay please.....

I'd say go with the 6800 and overclock the %#@$ out of it. I've got the 6600GT and I love it. It overclocks like crazy. I'm still using the crappy stock cooler, which runs it at about 80 degrees C under load, and it still makes 563/1180 from 500/900. I want to get a zalman or something and push it even higher. The 6800 should be even better. Highly recommended.

I'm also interested in an after market cooler for the new video, and my price range for the after market cooler is about $20-$30. Any suggestions would be greatly appericated.

BTW: I was thinking about getting this video card:

And this after market cooler:

Are my choices in Video card and after market cooler okay? Or are they not wise...
I might be selling my Sapphire X850XT PE with Zalman VF700 Cu cooler included. Yes, it also has the included ramsinks installed. If you'd like to make me an offer, do so
