Gigeresque RX9GT rig

Finally finished this thing, other than I am going to mod the PS in the future.

I basically built this rig from my wife's 2003 system, after her hard drive crashed and I bought her a new, more appropriate computer for her needs(a basic emachines 2.6 celeron).

The mobo(ASUS A7A266) and CPU(AMD Athlon XP1800+) are the only remaining components now from the original.

CPU is clocked to 1.82ghz(up from 1.53). That was as high as I could go and still be stable in Gentoo Linux 2.6 kernel.

Video is eVGA 6800GS, slightly overclocked.

SDRAM is 1gb of 266mhz DDR

Cooling is handled by three 120mm fans(CPU, front and rear), 1 80mm side panel fan, and a Thermaltake Big Typhoon, and yes I did replace the orange bladed fan with a red LED fan. CPU at idle is 85 deg F, VC is 98 deg F, and HD is at 85 deg F. With all these fans it's not the quietest thing, but I kinda like it sounding beefy and powerful(despite the modest CPU).

I decided to cover the wiring in chrome and black split loom, to give it a look like "Alien", since the case sort of reminds me of that.

Is that a Palomino core?

Not sure to be honest, is there an easy way to tell? The Palomino core's were pretty large right? I think this is smaller than those, maybe newer.

Well, let me ask you this, did you unlock it with a pencil? If so, it's not a Palomino =) I unlocked 4 of mine, but they were Palomino, so I had to fill in the pits with rear window defroster repair. I'm sure you could find out with CPU-Z if you looked up a couple things, but don't bother. I was just happy to see a 1800 hit 1.8 ghz. The Palominos usually don't hit very high clocks without overheating.
