Just curious do you know if this 7600gt can be flashed to a 7800xx? I'm so jealous i paid 200+ for my Asus 6600GT/TOP a year ago and now I wonder what i'd get for it? thanks for the link I may order one myself?

No the 7600gt cannot be flashed to a 7800. Oknilp the 7600gt would definately be a good medium cost upgrade for you. I just switched from a 9550 heavily overclocked to my x850xt (which is at about equal performance to a 7600gt) and this is going to sound kind of obvious but it makes a huge, huge difference in gaming. I can actually play FEAR and Oblivion without them looking like mud at 640x480. Easily the best $169 I ever spent on my PC.

I was looking at the 7600gt as well (the same model even) for my next upgrade.

I have a question though, would a 7600gt outperform 2 6600gt's in SLI?

No, but I imagine it's better than 2:1... More like a 9:7 ratio...
Besides, it costs more to go SLI now.... get a 7600GT now, and wait until your computer can't do all high settings in your games with 1280x1024 with 4xAA... (depending on your CPU....) Then go SLi

No its not.. The 6800Ultra is around X850XTPE performance, and the 7600GT is better than a 6800Ultra, along with the 7600Gt also being 90nm so better overclocking.

Edit: Yes, a 7600GT would beat 6600GT's in SLI.

7600gt uses less power too and runs very cool compared to the 6600gt and 6800gs. Well worth it.

Really?

If a 7900gt can't beat 6800gs' in SLI, the 7600gt can't beat the 6600gt's in SLI...

Are you looking at the same pic man?The only 7600 in their is in sli mode and he asked if 2 sli'd 6600gts are better than one 7600gt. Also i don't think buying your girlfriend a several hundred dollar system is bad as i'm just giving my rig now away when i get my conroe system.
