Pentium D 920 reading at 1.8 GHz. What gives?

Ok So I got the rest of my ES CPU's in today(6 total now) I got 2 Unlocked PD 920's with multi's from 14-21. Now when I put them in my P5WD2 E they both read at 1.8ghz with an FSB of 133 when they should clearly be 200. Now I thought this was a problem with the first 1 I tried the other day, but when I put the second in today it did the same thing. It also reads a sky high temp of 75C+ but when I run dual prime95's there is no throttleing on either of the CPU's. Im guessing maybe this is a bios issue, maybe I need to update it but I havent got a clue. It just seems odd to me, now I also got an unlocked PD 830 which reads right and has normal temps, so Im lost.

Ive got 2 other CPU's that wont boot. 1 of them wil boot to the ASUS screen just before entering setup, but doesnt go past this point just sits there, and the other wont even power up the HDD. When I hit the switch the HDD flickers on then goes off and the system doesnt even boot. IM guessing the CPU is toasted, but maybe the problem is the bios as well. Ive cleared CMOS each and everytime I tested a different CPU. Ive never clashed a bios to date so I havent a clue on how to do it, but maybe Ill get out the manual here in a bit and figure it out.

BTW none of them are burnt or have any physical deffects that can be seen.

Im just curious if anyone has any idea's on what the problem would be with the 920's and the other 2. Heres a couple pics of the CPU's.
1st. QGJB 920 ES
2nd. QDDZ 830 ES
3rd. QENU ????? <--- this one will boot but doesnt go past post??
4th. Info is rubbed off <--- this one wont boot at all

I don't think it's the BIOS, most likely the CPUs are not working properly.

As for the 920 reading a 1.8ghz only, it's because they're running on a 133fsb. Odd that they're a 200fsb but why are they running at 133? beats me, it could very well be because it is an ES. And 21x133= 2.8ghz, since that they have a 14-21 multi. Weird! If you ask me.

But nothing wrong with your MoBo, I think.

perhaps its a speedstep issue? i had a 3.2ghz chip that read itself at 2.8 and wouldnt up itself to 3.2 unless it was under load (stupid mofo mobo couldnt turn it off). it could also be the es chip is just modded to run at that speed.

how does a 920 have the option for a 21 multi?! Are you sure it's a 920? My 950 ES only goes to 17, seems to me a 920 would stop at 14....

I believe the 2 920's I have are the first off the line, and as such maybe they were going to make the 920 a 533mhz CPU instead of 800. But it makes for an easy 4.2ghz.

Very interesting indeed. Have you pushed the limits of FSB yet? That chip could be a monster if you can get it stable at 266-300 FSB. What kind of vcore are you running? I didn't see it come up in cpuz

I havent pushed FSB up very far I think the highest I went was 210x21 which was around 4.410. I havent done alot with the 920's as the temps read at 75c+ @ 1.8 so didnt want to toast them just yet. I did flash my bios last night to 0401 so maybe that will help out a little bit. As for the Vcore it was at 1.485, I did a test on the Max Vcore just running at 2.8 and it had no problems maxing out the board, of course I wouldnt run it like that I just wanted to see if the CPU had a Vcore limit, funny thing was the temps didnt rise 1 degree from 1.25-1.70.

Yeah, if you can raise the FSB a decent amount with that 21 multi, you could be at 5Ghz easy.

Man, how much you want for one of those 920 ES? LMAO
